Awesome Noir reinterpretation.

And Midna is basically one of the best illustrations of a female character I've ever seen.  Damn beautiful.

Hey, saw this posted in the Two Best Friends Play subreddit, and it's great! One thing I notice though, is that Link is demonstrating poor trigger discipline (looking at some of your other work, I've noticed it in "The Witcher - A Matter of Life and Death" and "The Bounty Hunter" too).

Someone who knows how to handle a gun (as I think these versions of Link, Geralt, and Samus would) would know not to put their finger on the trigger until they're ready to fire; instead, they'd keep their finger pressed against the side of the gun like in this image:

Just something to keep in mind for future works.

Maybe there's a mosquito buzzing around off camera. I know I've felt tempted to acts of violence to get rid of the really annoying ones.

These posters are fantastic. I love the old noir look of them. Great work.

I'm surprised you went with a revolver, when most film noir/pulp novel heroes used a Colt 1911 semi-automatic.

Great picture all the same.

It felt right for a Master Sword--turned-- gun.

"Lincoln," she says, "I need a hard-boiled man like you to do the job. I always have to work in the shadows, but the people trust you." As usual, I was speechless to what she said. This woman was jerking me around more than a dog with a meat-soiled rag the past few days. It made me wonder what Mayor Zelda Fitzgerald saw in her. But now with the tables turned toward those Gerudo gangsters, she's looking to me for help. A part of me tells me she'll just lead me on like all the other dames in my life. But in the twilight, I see her pleading eyes and I decided right there that I had one thing to say to her.

It was probably one of the worst days of my life.  Mr. Zant was slowly taking over the city of Hyrule.  MY city.  "Officially", he was only Acting Mayor until Mayor Zelda came back from "vacation", but everyone knew that was baloney.  He sent out the Blublin gang to snatch the kids from the neighborhoods to hold them ransom.  My neighborhood was the most recent.  They trashed my apartment complex, kidnapped my secretary, and to top it all off, they stole my car.  My 1911 Epona.

I was sitting in my office, trying to figure out how the hell I was going to set everything straight.  All I had was my .48 Master Sword.  That gun saw me though some rough times, but it wasn't going to be enough to take on an entire army of thugs.

And then, in walked the dame.

She was the kind of gal that made your head turn against your will.  A redhead that could wrap you around her finger without even trying.  She called herself Midna.  Midna Twilight.  A name I'll never forget.

Right from the start, I knew she was gonna be trouble.  But she was more.  So much more.

Midna's story was that she was the former heiress to the Twilight Syndicate, the strongest family in Hyrule.  Mr. Zant just happened to be her cousin, who cheated her out of her inheritance and left her penniless on the street.  But she had a piece of evidence that proved he wasn't the real heir.  The catch was that it wasn't enough on it's own.  There were three other pieces, each held by Zant's right-hand men.  One piece was in the Faron district, held by the Diababa twins.  Problem was, she didn't know exactly where they were.  Hence, why she came to the best detective in the entire city.

I was well-known in Faron.  Too well-known, since the Blublin gang would swarm me on sight if they knew I was poking around.  Midna had a plan for that, too.  She made a disguise for me as one of the hired guns her family employed, called "Twilight Wolves".  A mob goon would blend in nicely.  And off we went, sniffing for clues.
